Credit cards are a necessary evil of modern life, they make things easier but can also turn your life upside down. Is it possible to have a socially conscious credit card?

Charity Credit Cards

 Some credit card issuers offer a sort of charity reward program where they donate a percentage of your charges to a specific charity. The program works just like a reward but the rewards don't go to to you, they go to a specific charity. Project RED, Wildlife Federation and Rainbow cards are popular charity cards. Charity cards however, are not usually the best way to donate money because the amount the credit card company gives the charity is often very little.

Other Credit Card Aspects To Think About

As with most products and services figuring out what the best socially conscious option can be very difficult. For example, many of the charity cards I mentioned earlier are issued by companies with bad human rights records.
