Posted June 12th, 2008 by gordon
There are many reasons to become a locavore! Lets explore a few of them. What Is A Locavore?A locavore is a person that eats food grown only within their bioregion or about 100 miles from your home. A good locavore will track their food miles and know just how far a food item has traveled from farm to table. Why Locavore?1. Local food travels less, has reduced transportation costs and arrives at your table fresher. There is something about holding a tomato or other vegetable that is warm from being in the sun and that has never been refrigerated. I can't prove that local food tastes better, but I firmly believe it does.
